The Neighborhood School 2024-2024. Prek, K, and 1 After-School Creative Dance Program

Thank you for your interest in the Notes in Motion Dance Theatre’s Prek, K, and 1st Grade after school-program at The Neighborhood School The program is supported in part by City Council Member Rivera as well as the school budget --- as a result, we are able to offer the program for $450/month ($4,500/year). TNS that qualify for free/reduced lunch can fill out a Financial Aid application to pay $325/month ($3,250/year). Families that pay the entire year upfront receive an additional 5% discount.

Our students learn dance skills, choreography, improvisation, interdisciplinary study, and arts education. Our teaching artists lead instruction with our signature educational pedagogy, the Movement Exchange Method, in which students take on leadership roles in their own learning, have creative input in the design of the curriculum, participate in critical discussions of the work of their peers, and develop collaborative skills. The program fosters self-discovery, risk-taking, and making connections between different topics, themes, and areas of learning. We aim to provide access to the art form of dance to inspire the next generation of dance appreciators.
